Enhance the Kiosk Experience
Kiosk Extension is a free Chrome add-on designed to improve the functionality and control of Kiosks. This extension is specifically aimed at Kiosks with touchscreens that are launched with the --kiosk command. It also works with Chrome and Edge browsers.
With Kiosk Extension, you can add a button to pages that allows users to navigate back to the start page easily. The extension also provides navigation buttons, custom extra buttons, and the ability to disable mailto and phone links. You can choose to open all links in the same window or tab, and apply custom CSS to all pages.
Additionally, Kiosk Extension allows you to allow or deny specific pages, block common keys and keyboard shortcuts, and add a QR code with the URL to the current page. The extension also includes a feature to refresh the page if it remains idle for a certain amount of time. The options page can be password protected and settings can be easily synced to multiple kiosks using chrome.sync.
Please note that the positioning of buttons is customizable through drag and drop. If you navigate to a URL containing "kioskexit1337", the tab will close. The back button will always show if you end up on a PDF or media file URL. In case of internal error pages like DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN, you will be redirected to the homepage.
